The Harbour Entrance will be open from Tuesday 11 Feb. Please read the attached letter from DES

Wicklow County Council have completed the final section of the cycle path, as part of the Bray Harbour Infrastructure Works, extending it to link up with the Iarnród Éireann Underbridge (underpass) adjacent to the school site.

The Department of Education and Skills, having engaged with Córas Iompar Éireann/Iarnród Éireann, have established an agreement to open access to the underpass to allow pedestrian and cyclist access for students of the school. This arrangement has been formally set out under a Licence Agreement between the Department of Education and Skills and Córas Iompar Éireann/Iarnród Éireann.

The Department of Education and Skills has advised the school authority that access to the underpass will be opened, in line with the Licence Agreement, for students travelling by foot or bicycle from the Bray Harbour Area with effect from Tuesday 11th February 2020. The appropriate drop-off location for school students at the Bray Harbour Area is south of Bray Boxing Club. Parking at the entrance to the underpass or outside the adjacent business premises is prohibited at all times.

The timeframe for access through the underpass will be limited to one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon. The hours the underpass gates will open during term time are advised as follows:

Morning opening: 07.55 to 08.55 Monday to Friday during school term time.

Afternoon opening: 15:30 to 16:30 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday during school term time.

13.05 to 14.05 on Wednesday during school term time.

15.10 to 16.10 on Friday during school term time.

It is important to note that the gates to the underpass will be closed and locked at all other times with no discretion open to the school authorities to make exceptions to these arrangements.
